In Loving Memory

April 28, 2006--Fourteen months and twenty-five days. Three hundred ninety days. Nine thousand three
hundred sixty hours. Five hundred sixty-one thousand six hundred minutes. Thirty-three million, six hundred ninety-six thousand
seconds. That's how long it took for Codi's murderer to be arrested for her death. While entirely too long in some ways, I'm
glad it is finally happening. Codi will finally get the justice she deserves and be able to rest in peace. Although our pain
and suffering is far from over, Codi's is. Her murderer will not go unpunished and with that, we can truly begin the healing
process. Our lives have been forever shattered and irrevocably altered.
Ever since she was arrested, I have felt as if a tremendous weight has been lifted. Though she has not been formally charged, she stil sits in jail. Alone. Unable to do the things she want to, when she wants to. Victim services will notify me when her arraignment is so that I can be there. I have talked to many reporters and the links to their stories are on the News and Resources page. Please feel free to read them. The reporters I have dealt with have been nothing but kind to my family and myself. The stories were done tastefully and with compassion not found in many news stories. For that, I thank those who reported Codi's death and subsequent stories. I will add more as the arraignment and trial happens.
