April 28, 2006--Fourteen months and twenty-five days. Three hundred ninety days. Nine thousand three hundred sixty hours. Five hundred sixty-one thousand six hundred minutes. Thirty-three million, six hundred ninety-six thousand seconds. That's how long it took for Codi's murderer to be arrested for her death. While entirely too long in some ways, I'm glad it is finally happening. Codi will finally get the justice she deserves and be able to rest in peace. Although our pain and suffering is far from over, Codi's is. Her murderer will not go unpunished and with that, we can truly begin the healing process. Our lives have been forever shattered and irrevocably altered.

Ever since she was arrested, I have felt as if a tremendous weight has been lifted. Though she has not been formally charged, she stil sits in jail. Alone. Unable to do the things she want to, when she wants to. Victim services will notify me when her arraignment is so that I can be there. I have talked to many reporters and the links to their stories are on the News and Resources page. Please feel free to read them. The reporters I have dealt with have been nothing but kind to my family and myself. The stories were done tastefully and with compassion not found in many news stories. For that, I thank those who reported Codi's death and subsequent stories.

I will add more as the arraignment and trial happens.

There are two court dates so far. July 11, 2006 @ 1 pm is Missy's perliminary hearing. July 21, 2006 @ 10 am is Pam's and July 21 @ 11 am is Brian's. At these hearings the state must provide enough probable cause to bind them over for trial. I am nervous, excited and terrified. I love you and I miss you every second of every day Codi. You are my first thought when I wake up and my last before I fall asleep. You are in My heart always and forever.
I will post results of these hearings as soon as I can. Thank you all for your support, kind words and prayers.

Many things have happened since my last update to this website. Life happens and I haven't had the time to bring it all up to date.
The person responsible took a plea bargin and plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter and felony abuse of a child. She was sentenced to 7 years on the manslaughter and 3 years on the abuse to be served consecutively.
She has been in prison since April of 2007. She will be released on September 20, 2014 and even after she gets out, she will be on probation until January 20, 2018. If she does anything to violate her probation, she goes back to prison.
